This report looks at the top 10 emerging technologies in the energy industry, including AI, robotics, big data, and IoT. Each technology features three practical use cases and one promising startup. Data center consumption is projected to exceed 2000 TWh by 2035. At the same time, grid expansion has become a capital priority, with utilities like E. ON. Global investment in manufacturing capacity for six clean energy technologies – solar photovoltaic (PV), wind, batteries, electric vehicles (EVs), electrolysers and heat pumps – dropped below USD 200 billion in 2024, down from nearly USD 220 billion in 2023. With more than 25 years of experience in manufacturing-related roles across industry, academia, and government, Morehouse enjoys leveraging his expertise in research. This article studies the priorities of grid companies for the devel-opment of the energy Internet industry from the three major aspects of the external environment, internal capabilities and central corporate responsibility, and according to six dimensions of market potential, market structure. Considering the role of government incentives, this study first constructs an evolutionary game model with local governments, manufacturing enterprises, and industrial Internet platforms as the main players. Then, the dynamic change process of each game player's strategy choice and the stable state. High energy costs, global conflict, increasing demand, and the push towards sustainability goals have created a perfect storm that's hit energy suppliers from all sides and put digital transformation at the top of agendas.
